Term assistant professor
positions
The Department of
Mathematics at the University of Louisville is seeking to fill two non-tenure
track teaching positions at the Assistant Professor level beginning January 1,
2024. Each position is for the spring
semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, and both positions are renewable
depending on performance and department staffing requirements.
Minimum qualifications for
these positions include a Ph.D. degree, or its equivalent, in Mathematics,
Mathematics Education, or a closely related field to be awarded no later than
December 31, 2023. Experience teaching at the college level is required, and experience with online classes, active learning
classrooms, teacher preparation courses, and adaptive learning software is
highly preferred.
Job
responsibilities will include teaching both online and in-person classes,
including large lectures at the general education level, courses for
prospective elementary and middle grades teachers, and occasional evening
courses. Regular participation in departmental service activities and meetings
is expected.
