Position Description
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon
University invites applications for a tenure track faculty
position at the rank of assistant professor or higher to
begin on September 1, 2024. This search will give
preference to mathematicians whose work connects to the
research interests of the current faculty while also
expanding the overall research profile of the department.
Areas of interest include algebraic geometry, algebraic
and analytic combinatorics, ergodic theory, number theory,
model theory, geometry and topology. Exceptional candidates
in other areas will also be considered. The promise of
excellent abilities to teach and mentor students of diverse
backgrounds is a strong plus.
Preference will be given to candidates who have shown
outstanding promise and excellent research accomplishments
and are pursuing a vigorous research program. The Department
of Mathematical Sciences is committed to increasing the

their research, teaching, and service, will contribute to the

statement describing how, through their research, teaching or

solicited through MathJobs.
