Position Description

Trinity University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in the department of mathematics to start in the fall semester of 2024.

We are considering candidates with a strong foundation in mathematics who are also willing to teach and develop courses that meet the future needs and interests of our students—we are especially interested in candidates who have the background and ability to teach a broad range of introductory and advanced mathematics courses, including courses for business and science majors. The successful applicant will be expected to be an excellent teacher and mentor, pursue a vigorous research program, and provide service to the department and University.

Applicants should apply online at https://trinity.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/Trinity_University/job/Assistant-Professor-of-Mathematics_JR100548 and submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, research statement, and a diversity statement. Trinity University embraces the teacher-scholar model, and candidates are encouraged to use their cover letter to speak to how they see themselves contributing to this model at Trinity. As Trinity University is committed to the value of intentional inclusion, your diversity statement (250-500 words) should describe any of your past efforts—as well as your future plans—to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in your teaching, research, or other professional activities as it relates to the field of mathematics. All complete applications received by November 1, 2023, will be guaranteed full consideration.

Candidates who advance beyond our initial review will be asked to contact their references to email letters directly to the search committee by mid-November. Candidates should seek out letter writers who together can address the candidate’s abilities and promise as teachers, researchers, and mentors.
