The Department of Mathematics at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2024. The position is aimed at financial mathematics and related areas, including stochastic analysis, probability, optimization, machine learning, mathematical economics, and actuarial science. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses and supervise Ph.D. students, especially in financial mathematics, and teach general undergraduate mathematics courses. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in mathematics, or a related discipline, and academic or professional postdoctoral experience related to the field of financial mathematics. The ideal candidate will have successful university-level teaching experience and promise of outstanding research in areas that complement the existing research interests of the faculty. The university enrolls over 40,000 students at the main campus in Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida.
