The Department of Mathematics at Jacksonville University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level starting in August 2024. A doctorate in mathematics or a closely related field is required before the starting date. All specialties will be considered, but special consideration may be given to applicants with a background in applied mathematics or data science. The department offers BA and BS degrees in mathematics as well as a BS in data science in collaboration with the Department of Computing Science. The department is committed to providing an exceptional learning environment to a diverse undergraduate audience while using modern approaches to pedagogy and use of technology. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in undergraduate teaching and mentorship and is expected to maintain an active research program, including undergraduate research, in addition to providing service to the department and university. The standard teaching load is 24 credits per academic year and typically includes a broad range of lower-level and upper-level courses.
