The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences of Marquette University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Data Science/Computational Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2024. The Department seeks an individual with a doctorate by time of appointment in statistics, mathematics, data science or closely related field. Candidates with research in computational statistics, applied probability, machine learning, applied statistics, bioinformatics, statistical and/or data-driven modeling and forecasting are preferred. We seek strong candidates in any field of statistics or data science where the innovative and principled use of statistics and/or probability is of vital importance.  Preference will be given to those who demonstrate the ability to teach both lower and upper division data-intensive courses, can actively participate and contribute to our unique Ph.D. program in Computational Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, and whose research record demonstrates potential for establishing an externally-funded research program.
