Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University solicits applications for a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in Mathematics. This three-year position is part of a cluster of STEM Postdoctoral Teaching Fellows who will develop evidence-based learning experiences for undergraduate students and assessment tools to study these experiences. A main focus of this hiring cluster will be interventions for first-year college students to promote positive attitudes related to STEM interest, identity and belonging, especially for students traditionally underrepresented in STEM.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree and a record of teaching excellence. Preference will be given to candidates with a doctorate either in postsecondary mathematics education or in the mathematical sciences. However, candidates with doctorates in education in another STEM field may be considered.

The position start date is July 1, 2024, with teaching responsibilities beginning in Fall 2024. Please submit your AMS cover sheet, cover letter, curriculum vitae, and research and teaching statements, and arrange the submission of at least four letters of recommendation, one of which addresses teaching.

Applications received by December 1, 2023 will be given priority.
