The Department of Mathematics at the University of Iowa invites applications for a Tenure-Track position at the Assistant Professor level in the areas of Analysis and PDE (broadly defined), effective August 2024. Qualified candidates may be also considered for appointment at a higher rank (Associate or Full Professor). The Department offers the BA, BS, and PhD degrees in Mathematics, and cooperates with the Applied Mathematical and Computational Sciences (AMCS) PhD program in the Graduate College. We seek an exceptional scholar with a highly active and visible research program. The successful candidate will actively pursue external funding to support their research and will engage in teaching and mentoring of students at all undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, they are expected to contribute service to the department, university, and professional organizations.

A PhD in Mathematics or a closely related disciple is required for this position.

Required Qualifications: Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching, relative to career level and demonstrated potential for external funding, relative to career level.

Desirable Qualifications: At least two years of postdoctoral research experience at time of appointment; established record of external funding, relative to career level; previous experience and/or future plans for mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; and ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and communities.
