Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Mathematics beginning August 2024. We are considering applications from all areas of mathematics, both pure and applied. Applicants must have a terminal degree in mathematics or a related field, demonstrated strength or a commitment to excellence in teaching, and a willingness to mentor undergraduate students in research. We seek candidates whose research, teaching and/or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse audiences in higher education, and particularly in STEM.

Successful candidates will be able to teach introductory, general education, and upper level undergraduate courses. Centenary values interdisciplinary teaching and encourages faculty to contribute to and/or connect course offerings and scholarship.

Teaching responsibilities are six courses per year, including a mix of general education courses and major courses. There are also opportunities to teach courses in the Centenary in Paris program, May immersion term, and Summer term. Priority will be given to candidates with an interest or experience in teaching general education math, the calculus sequence, linear algebra, and courses for math majors.
