The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position that will begin on August 19, 2024. This is a full-time, 9-month position. The priority areas for this hire are statistics, data science, or actuarial science. Researchers with expertise in applied math are also welcome to apply. Our department is invested in supporting research scholars, and a successful candidate will establish a robust and independent research program, which includes mentorship and advising of undergraduates and graduate students. We encourage and expect faculty to seek external research funding.
