St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in Mathematical Sciences / Statistics for the 2024 – 2025 academic year.

We are hiring one tenure-track position in Statistics within the Mathematical Sciences department. The Mathematical Sciences department offers hands-on faculty/student collaborative research opportunities and dedicated active learning and computer classrooms with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and communication skills in a cooperative environment. Our faculty prioritize teaching excellence and work collaboratively to support students who are passionate about social justice and aspire to use their education and training to lead and influence.

Responsibilities: Teach a course load (3-3) on a semester basis in traditional or online environments. Educate and support students in the classroom. Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with people of all cultures and abilities. Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator, and a mentor. Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance. Monitor curriculum content and make recommendations as appropriate to maintain relevance. Develop an engaged scholarly agenda Provide service to the department and the university.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Statistics, Statistics Education, BioStatistics, or a closely related science field A doctoral degree is required prior to joining. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered. Collegiate level teaching experience in mathematics or statistics courses All candidates should demonstrate their commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service, which includes a strong commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to communicate respectfully with individuals from all backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in teaching and/or research in theoretical statistics, statistical methodology, stochastic modeling, computational statistics, statistics education, and/or applications of statistics in the health sciences, economics, and/or social sciences Demonstrated proficiency in or potential for interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches
