Position Description
Seton Hill University, a Catholic liberal arts institution located in Greensburg Pennsylvania, seeks applicants for, a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Mathematics position. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to teach a variety of mathematics courses in the undergraduate, MBA and the Master’s in Information Technology Management programs. The position is part of the Department of Mathematics within the School of Business, and provides a unique opportunity to be part of a closely knit family of educators who following the teachings of Elizabeth Ann Seton, inspires students “to think and act critically, creatively, and ethically as productive members of society committed to transforming the world.” The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to teach online, face to face and in the hybrid format. The normal teaching load is 24 credit hours (8 courses) per year. In addition to teaching, the successful faculty member will be expected to advise students, undertake scholarly research, and provide school, university, and community service. Degrees and Experience: Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics is preferred, ABD will be considered; college-level teaching experience is preferred. Candidates with experience in data analytics and data science will receive higher preference. Position Start Date: August, 2024.
