The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for two year postdoctoral position with possible extension to a third year subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The expected start date is August 16, 2024. 

This opening is in computational topology and/or harmonic analysis, aligning with research interests of Prof. Eric Weber. Topics of interest include persistent homology, simplicial complexes, time-frequency analysis, and sparse decompositions.

The position has a 2-1 teaching load and a requirement to be involved with mentoring undergraduate students in research through the Iowa State Math Research Teams (ISMaRT).

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in Mathematics or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Research experience in computational topology and/or harmonic analysis. 
  • Experience teaching and mentoring of students.
