The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for two year postdoctoral position(s) with possible extension to a third year subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The expected start date is August 16, 2024. This opening is in Discrete Mathematics aligning with research interests of Prof. Steve Butler, Prof. Shira Zerbib, or Prof. Bernard Lidický. This includes combinatorial matrix theory, graph and hypergraph theory, spectral graph theory, discrete geometry, topological combinatorics, and extremal combinatorics. The position has a 2-1 teaching load and a requirement to be involved with mentoring undergraduate students in research through the Iowa State Math Research Teams (ISMaRT). A complete application will consist of a cover letter, a current CV, a research statement, a teaching statement, and at least three letters of recommendation (at least one of which addresses teaching).
