Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Mathematics faculty position in the Department of Mathematics that begins in August 2024.

Responsibilities: • Teach both lower division and upper division undergraduate Mathematics courses. • Contribute professional service to the department, college, university and/or the professional community. • Establish and maintain a program of research that includes regular publication in peer-reviewed journals and ongoing efforts to obtain external research funding.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include • PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics with a research emphasis in analysis or discrete mathematics. For ABDs, Required degree must be earned by start date. • Research areas that would complement and/or augment the existing faculty research strength in the Department of Mathematics will also be considered. • Research experience in analysis or discrete mathematics (or related mathematical areas) and a record of scholarly products produced from such research. • A demonstrated potential and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate level mathematics courses ranging from general education courses through more advanced mathematics courses. • A strong commitment to student success and a desire to invest deeply in KSU students.

Preferred Qualifications Include • Post-doctoral experience • Potential for obtaining external research funding • Interest in contributing to the development and implementation of a potential graduate program in mathematics and in supporting other graduate programs at the university where applicable.
