Earlham College is seeking a Director of Quantitative Reasoning Center to join our team!

Earlham College seeks a motivated, independent, creative person to direct our Quantitative Reasoning (QR) Center and Peer Tutoring program. The Director will partner with personnel across the College to promote excellence in quantitative reasoning skills development. The position salary is $50,000.

Essential Functions:

Manage the peer tutoring program, including the hiring, training, payment, and regular evaluation of peer tutors

Manage the QR Center website and budget

Develop and teach fundamental courses for quantitative skills development, including Pre-Calculus (usually one course each semester)

Assess the quantitative skills of incoming and/or current Earlham students

Develop skills-building workshops for students through the Academic Enrichment Center on topics such as effective test-taking techniques, etc.

Develop workshops for faculty on effective quantitative skills assessment and other topics of interest

Qualifications M.A. or M. Ed. in Mathematics Education or related field

Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate an ability to work closely with a range of campus constituencies

Bonus Points For

Knowledge and experience with mathematics education research

Experience related to Quantitative Reasoning Center administration

Proven success directing a peer tutoring program

Proven success working with faculty

Ability to work with diverse students at all levels

Experience managing a peer tutoring program

Experience teaching college-level courses
