Position Description
We would like to invite applications for a two-year postdoctoral position hosted by the University of Calgary in the area of forecasting and mathematical modeling for renewable energy. We are seeking applicants with a strong quantitative background and research experience with real world applications involving high dimensional data. Some key topics of interest include but not limited to: Spatio-temporal processes, atmospheric boundary layer, hierarchical Bayesian models, optimization, wind farm modeling, transmission and generation planning, modeling of electricity markets with renewables. The earliest possible start date is April 1, 2024.
This position is a part of PIMS Collaborative Research Group (CRG) in Forecasting and Mathematical Modeling for Renewable Energy, which is an initiative among University of Calgary, University of Victoria and Acadia Universities providing ample opportunities for collaboration and networking. The minimum total stipend is 50,000 (CAD) per year plus benefits for duties including research and teaching one to two courses per year.
