The Department of Finance and Risk Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor, to start on September 1, 2024. The FRE department hosts the Master of Science degree in Financial Engineering, which is consistently among the top ranked programs worldwide. Our faculty, students and alumni tackle theoretical and practical challenges in financial engineering. FRE is currently expanding the research team in view of developing a doctoral program in collaboration with other departments. Qualifications We are looking to hire in all areas of mathematics applied to financial engineering and decision modeling for economics and finance. Areas of interests include stochastic analysis, optimization, control and game theory, statistics and data science. You should have a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics, or a closely related discipline, with a demonstrated experience and a clear knowledge of current challenging problems in financial engineering and decision modeling. We seek individuals who have the potential to develop a strong record of scholarship, leadership, curricular innovation, entrepreneurship, and an excellent funding record. You should demonstrate potential for excellence in research, teaching and mentoring. Additional Information In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (for 9-month) range for this position is $125,000 - $195,000 for the Assistant Professor rank.
