Position Description

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for Van Vleck Visiting Assistant Professorships with partial funding from the National Science Foundation to begin on August 19, 2024, contingent on budgetary approval. This is a postdoctoral position in Scientific Machine Learning and Computational Inverse Problems

The successful candidate will will conduct research in scientific machine learning and computational inverse problems. The postdoc will be supervised by Sam Stechmann. Information about Sam Stechmann's current research is available at his faculty website, https://www.math.wisc.edu/~stechmann/

Appointments are normally for a fixed term of three years. The teaching load will usually be 2 courses per year, with the possibility of one year with 1 course. Promise of excellence in research and teaching is important. Applicants should set up an account at http://www.mathjobs.org.
