The Chair of Ergodic Theory at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for one or more postdoctoral researcher positions. We seek outstanding candidates working in either one of the following areas: ergodic theory, topological or symbolic dynamics, additive combinatorics, combinatorial number theory, multiplicative number theory, or Ramsey theory.

• Candidates should have (or be near completion of) a PhD in mathematics.

• This is a 3-year appointment, with the possibility to extend for a 4-th year contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

• The position comes with excellent research conditions, a competitive salary, and funding to cover travel expenses and other discretionary expenditures.

• The anticipated starting date for this position is September 1, 2024, but an earlier or later starting date is also possible.

• Knowledge of French is not a requirement.
