Position Description:    

The School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to expand its research profile in Geometry and/or Topology. The successful applicant is expected to undertake high-level research leading to a vigorous research program in their area of expertise. In addition, they will have a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the ability to supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. Pure Mathematics at Melbourne University has groups working in Analysis, Algebraic Geometry, Number Theory, Representation Theory and Topology. Further details on our research profile can be found at" This continuing position typically includes a teaching load of two courses per year. The appointment will be at Academic Level B/C (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer), which is roughly the equivalent of Assistant/Associate Professor in the US system, depending on applicant’s experience. The standard Melbourne University salary package is Level B $114,645-$136,136 pa plus 17% superannuation, Level C $140,433-$161,926 pa plus 17% superannuation.
