The School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to expand its research profile in Pure Mathematics. The successful applicant is expected to undertake high-level research leading to a vigorous research program in their area of expertise. In addition, they will have a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the ability to supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.

This continuing position typically includes a teaching load of two courses per year. The appointment will be at Academic Level B/C (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer), which is roughly the equivalent of Assistant/Associate Professor in the US system, depending on applicant’s experience.
The standard Melbourne University salary package is Level B $114,645-$136,136 pa plus 17% superannuation, Level C $140,433-$161,926 pa plus 17% superannuation.
