| Department: Mathematics & Data Science
Summary: Visiting Assistant Professor, Full Time, Effective Fall 2024. (Three-year
term appointment with the possibility of renewal.) The Department of Mathematics and Data Science is a small but growing department with strong student interest in Data Science. The Data Science program is interdisciplinary, with faculty from Physics, Business, Biology, and Chemistry contributing to the Data Science program.
Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in applied mathematics, or a related field.
• ABDs will be considered.
• Applicants with a master’s degree and professional experience will be considered.
• Preferred candidates will demonstrate an ability to excite students about the study of mathematics and data science.
• Interest and motivation to teach undergraduates.
• A commitment to the College mission (see below).
Duties and Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will teach applied mathematics and statistics.
• The successful candidate will teach in the Data Science program, which might include: SQL, data mining, data visualization, or machine learning.
• The successful candidate will teach four courses each semester.
