The Department of Mathematics invites applications for full-time, non-tenure-track
postdoctoral positions as Temporary Assistant Professor of Mathematics, to begin August 1, 2024. The initial appointment will be for one year, but extension for an additional two years is expected, for three years total. Applications from all areas of mathematics are encouraged. The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is a public R1 university, located in Honolulu, Hawai'i. It is the flagship campus of the University of Hawai'i system, with a vibrant research culture. Candidates should have a strong research background in an area of mathematics that overlaps with faculty research programs in the department. The department serves a very diverse student population from Hawai'i and beyond from introductory service courses through to the PhD level. Candidates should be enthusiastic about engaging with students with broad life experiences. A complete application will include: a cover letter; a curriculum vitae; a list of publications; a statement of research done and planned; a statement of teaching philosophy; at least three confidential letters of recommendation, at least one of which must address teaching.
