Position Description

The "Centro di Ricerca Matematica Ennio De Giorgi" (CRM-PISA) invites applications for FIVE two-year Junior Visiting Positions (2024-2026) for the following subject matters:

1. Algebraic Geometry and/or Number Theory;

2. Topology, Differential Geometry and/or Geometric Analysis;

3. Partial Differential Equations and/or Probability;

4. Numerical Analysis and/or Financial Mathematics;

5. Dynamical Systems.

The five positions are funded by the Scuola Normale Superiore, within Centro di Ricerca Matematica Ennio De Giorgi, with the contribution of the Emma and Giovanni Sansone Foundation.

Successful candidates will be new or recent PhD's in mathematics with an exceptional research potential. PhD students can also apply, provided that they obtain their PhD no later than October 1^st 2024.

Candidates must apply for a specific and single position among the 5 specified above. In his/her on-line application each candidate may also indicate a maximum of three experts in the field of research, to whom the Scuola Normale will ask to send a letter of reference.

The total two-year gross remuneration, inclusive of all taxes, is € 66.840 for each contract, corresponding to a monthly salary of approximately 2,000 Euros. An additional yearly research allowance of 1,000 Euros for exchange visits is also provided. Depending on budget availability, extra funding might be assigned.

Junior Visitors are expected to start their research activity no later than October 1^st 2024.
