The Instituto de Matemáticas at the Universidad National Autónoma de México (UNAM) seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track professor position in analysis, starting between* April and September 2024, in Mexico City.

The position is part of a program called SIJA-DGAPA that looks for hiring young applicants. So there are the following restrictions: At the moment of starting the position, women should not be older that 39 years old and men should not be older than 37 years old.

UNAM is the leading university in México, and among the strongest research math institutions in Latin America. The Institute has more than 90 full time researchers covering many areas of mathematics. More information about the Institute and the university can be found in www.matem.unam.mx.

Qualifications include postdoctoral experience (or equivalent), effective communication skills, commitment to teaching excellence, and an active research program in mathematics.

Responsibilities include, maintaining a strong research program, teaching one course per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level in a topic of interest to the candidate, and advising students.

Applications must include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae (CV), a list of publications, and a research statement with a declaration of motives and commitment to work at the Instituto de Matemáticas at UNAM. Evidence of teaching interest and abilities may also be included within the CV.

Additionally, at least two letters of recommendations must be sent separately. Letters of recommendation should be uploaded to MathJobs by the recommender.
