The Department of Mathematics of HKUST is seeking promising early-career researchers for an attractive two-year postdoctoral position in one of the following areas: geometric representation theory, algebraic geometry, and low-dimensional topology, broadly construed. The possibility of renewal is subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. The appointee will work in the research group of Prof. Quoc Ho (https://quocho.com/), whose current research interests lie in the intersection of geometric representation theory, quantum knot invariants, and higher/∞-categories. The teaching load of the position is light, with one course each academic year. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree (by the start of the appointment), with a strong research track record in their respective expertise. They should demonstrate ability to conduct independent research, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. An excellent command of written and spoken English is required. Experience in teaching (in English) is a plus.
