Open Positions in School of Mathematics, Southwest Jiaotong University Founded in 1896, Southwest Jiaotong university (SWJTU) is China’s first institution of higher engineering education and the birthplace of higher education in civil engineering, mining and metallurgical engineering, and transportation engineering. It has consistently cultivated outstanding graduates to contribute to the national rejuvenation of China. Over the past 127 years, SWJTU has excelled in engineering education, trained graduates to master cutting-edge technologies and strive for excellence, and combine liberal arts and science and engineering. It has been at the forefront of China’s railway transportation industry, contributing to establishing a presence of “China’s high-speed railway system” in the world and achieving over a hundred “firsts” in China and even the world. SWJTU is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is one of China’s first batch of research university with Graduate School and is in China’s “Double First-class”, “National 211 Project”, “985 Innovative Platforms for Key Disciplines Project”, and “2011 Collabarative Innovation Plan.” The history of mathematics teaching in Southwest Jiaotong University began in 1896, which is synchronous with the construction and development history of the University. The predecessor of the school of mathematics is the Department of mathematics and mechanics of Tangshan railway University, which was founded in 1958. In 1982, our school was the first batch of national engineering colleges to obtain the right to grant master's degree in pure mathematics. In 1985, the university officially established the Department of mathematics, and in 2008, the university officially established the school of mathematics. The school of mathematics has 122 faculty members, including 16 professors, 58 associate professors. At present, the school has one first-class discipline doctoral program: Mathematics, one post doctorate stations: Mathematics, two first-class discipline master programs: Mathematics and Statistics, and three undergraduate majors: Pure and applied mathematics, Statistics, Data science and big data technology.
