Position Description
Saint Louis University invites applications for two non-tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The position will begin in August, 2024. Review of applications will begin immediately; however, applications received by February 15 , 2024 are assured of full consideration.
A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related area (broadly defined) is required.
The ideal candidate would have:
· Experience in teaching, assessment, and curricular design for developmental mathematics or introductory statistics.
· Knowledge of contemporary, innovative practices relevant to developmental mathematics or introductory statistics.
· Efficacy in leading colleagues in the implementation of curricular reform.
· Facility in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Duties include teaching undergraduate mathematics courses with an emphasis on developmental mathematics or introductory statistics, overseeing the curriculum of developmental mathematics courses or introductory statistics. The typical teaching load for this position will be three courses per semester.
Non-tenure-track faculty at Saint Louis University have the opportunity for promotion to both the rank of NTT Associate Professor and NTT Full Professor. In addition to the duties described above, progress towards promotion will be based on a candidate’s participation in Department governance and University service as well as the candidate’s engagement with scholarship through research, professional workshops and conferences, and other forms of dissemination of knowledge to the professional community.
