Position Description The Department of Mathematics at Tulane University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar to work in the research group of Prof. Tommaso Buvoli. Research topics include scientific computing, numerical analysis, time integration, and scientific machine learning. The postdoc will also teach up to one mathematics course per year. The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of an extension for a third year. The position could start as early as July 1, 2024, but later start dates are also possible. Qualifications Ph.D. in Applied/Computational Mathematics or a related field. Ideal candidates will have: • Past experience deriving and analyzing numerical methods and/or machine learning methods for scientific computing. • A strong computational background and experience with languages and frameworks such as Matlab, Python, NumPy/SciPy, Pytorch/TensorFlow/Jax.
