Position: Postdoctoral Fellows

Site: Research Center for Mathematics, Advanced Institute of Natural Sciences

Reports to: Principal Investigator

Status: Full time – 2 years

The Mathematical Research Center (https://rcm.uic.edu.cn/index.htm) is looking for motivated individuals for several postdoctoral fellow position in the Zhuhai campus of the Beijing Normal University. We seek applications for several projects involving the development of computational tools in several areas, including biomedicine, sports, and climate modeling. These projects will focus on how to leverage ideas from a combination of partial differential equation based computational methodologies and machine learning techniques to develop computational models and software. The postdoctoral fellows would be supervised by Prof. Huaxiong Huang and his research team members and collaborators.

Required qualifications

Minimum PhD in scientific computing in one of the following areas: fluid mechanics, biology, physiology, computer vision, or other applications in engineering or biomedicine. Expertise in Python, C/C++ or other program languages. We encourage PhD applicants interested in exploring this intersection space to apply.

Preferred qualifications

Hands-on experience using scientific computing and machine learning tools as well as developing custom machine learning models in high performance C/C++ or python computing environments.

Category and salary of post-doctoral fellows

Category 1: those who have obtained their doctoral degrees in the last three years from the top 100 universities in the world and have made outstanding research achievements during their doctoral study. The salary of such postdoctoral fellows is CNY 400,000 (about USD 62,700) per year before tax (including five social insurance and housing fund).
Category 2: those who meet the entry standards of BNU for Category A postdoctoral fellows and promise to meet the requirements of outbound assessment. The salary of such postdoctoral fellows is CNY 300,000 (about USD 47,000) per year before tax (including the five social insurance and housing fund).
