Position Description
Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a one-year visiting position in the Department of Mathematics beginning August 2024. The teaching specialty is open, but preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching calculus, and the potential to teach probability and statistics courses in our curriculum. The rank will be Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, depending on qualifications. Appointment is for nine months per year (mid-August - mid-May). This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants should possess or be close to completing a doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential. We are eager to recruit candidates who have experience working with students and colleagues of diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. The teaching load is six courses per year. Visiting faculty have the opportunity to advise undergraduates in research and/or mathematical contests. The department has a strong culture of mentoring visiting faculty.
