The Department of Mathematics at Wellesley College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in the fall semester of 2024. The position is initially for one year with a 3-2 teaching load, with the possibility of an extension for a second year.

A successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences and provide strong evidence of excellence in teaching. Applications should be submitted online through MathJobs and should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a short description of research (written for non-specialists), a statement of teaching interests and experience, and two letters of reference discussing teaching. The cover letter should address the candidate’s interest in developing his/her teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts setting with a diverse student body. Additional documents, such as past student evaluations or a letter of recommendation for research, may be submitted but are not required. For first consideration, applications should be submitted by April 1, 2024, although they will be considered on a rolling basis after that
