At the Institute of Mathematics which is part of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics at Paderborn University a 

is to be filled as soon as possible. We seek candidates with excellent scientific qualifications at the interface of algebra and discrete mathematics, who will significantly strengthen and extend the existing research profile of the Institute of Mathematics of Paderborn University as well as of the CRC/TRR 358 “Integral structures in geometry and representation theory”. Possible research directions of the candidate could include (but are not limited to) algebraic combinatorics, applied algebraic geometry, geometric group theory or combinatorial representation theory. 

We expect the candidate to be willing to actively participate in the CRC/TRR 358 “Integral structures in geometry and representation theory”. It is also desirable that the candidate has potential for cooperate within the Institute of Mathematics or other departments of Paderborn University, for example with the Department of Computer Science or the Institute for Photonic Quantum Systems. 

The candidate is required to contribute to the full scope of teaching duties of the Institute of Mathematics, including mathematics classes for prospective teacher students and students of other disciplines. 

Hiring requirements: § 36 Abs. 1 Ziff. 1-4 HG NRW – University law of the State of NRW (completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, Ph.D. degree and additional research achievements).
