Position Description

The Research Fellow in Mathematical Modelling of Multicellular Mechanobiology, funded by the Australian Research Council’s Future Fellowship of A/Prof James Osborne, will play a key role in developing multicellular models of tissue and organ development within the Melbourne Mathematical Biology Group at the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Reporting directly to A/Prof James Osborne, the appointee will contribute to the project titled “CellMechBio: the influence of cellular mechanobiology on organ development”, aiming to revolutionize the fidelity of multicellular models of three-dimensional tissues. The role involves focusing on four primary aims: cellular remodelling, cell–substrate interactions, cell–fluid interactions, and driving the uptake of multicellular mathematical modelling tools in the scientific community.

Additionally, the successful candidate will engage in research, teaching, and joint supervision of postgraduate students, with an expectation to teach one applied mathematics subject per year or equivalent.
