The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Mount Allison University invites applications for a 9-month position to teach Computer Science. Candidates must have an MSc or PhD in Computer Science and have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

The successful candidate will teach four on-campus undergraduate courses in Computer Science in the 2024-2025 academic year: Algorithm Analysis (COMP 3611) and either Principles of Programming Languages (Comp 3711) or Computer Graphics (Comp 3831) in the fall (depending on the successful applicant’s interests and background), and Introduction to Computer Science (COMP 1631) and Programming Techniques and Algorithms (Comp 1731) in the winter term. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor and will commence on August 1, 2024, subject to budgetary approval.

Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching experience and interests, and letters from three referees with at least one addressing teaching skills. In their cover letter, applicants should directly comment on their preparedness to teach lower-year CS courses, as well as any openness to or experience with active learning models and ethics, diversity and inclusion curricula in a CS context. We are moving towards ethics across the curriculum and presently this includes COMP 1631. Applications must be submitted online at www.mathjobs.org. Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 29, 2024.
