Position Description

The Department of Mathematics in Penn State's Eberly College of Science is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar beginning August 2024. The successful candidate will work with Professor John Harlim in the area of Applied and Computational Mathematics. The project, which is funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR), encompasses learning dynamical systems and/or approximating solutions of PDEs on unknown manifolds. 

Education and Experience 
Applicants must have recently completed a Ph.D. and have exceptional research potential. Teaching may be required. This position is funded for one year with an excellent possibility of renewal for a second year. 

Qualified candidates are expected to have a background in differential geometry, numerical analysis/PDEs, and/or dynamical systems theory.
