Group Introduction
The group's principal investigator is Professor Huayi Chen, who is dedicated to research in arithmetic geometry. In the study of arithmetic projective varieties, he has proposed a new method of filtration with real index and applied the ideas of random variable coupling and measure transfer theory to the study of invariants of arithmetic line bundles. In collaboration with Professor Moriwaki, he has established the theory of adelic curves, extending Arakelov geometry to general countable fields.
Job Description
Position: Postdoctoral Fellow (no. of vacancies: 1)
Start date: Flexible
Requirements:
(1) Have obtained or about to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics.
(2) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English.
(3) Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Lean programming.
(4) Aged under 35.
Responsibilities:
(1) Independently carry out scientific research focusing on the core research direction.
(2) Participate in mathematical teaching activities for undergraduate courses.
(3) Assist the PI in the writing of textbooks.
(4) Complete other tasks assigned under the guidance of the PI.
Compensation and Benefits
The research group offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applications for relevant projects and programs will be encouraged and supported. For post-doc(s) who are selected by China Postdoctoral Science Foundation or Advanced Programs of Zhejiang Province will be entitled to receive the same amount of funds from the Hangzhou government.
Postdoc(s) who work in Hangzhou on a full-time basis after completing their postdoctoral research will be eligible for applying an allowance of 400,000RMB from the Hangzhou municipal government.
