Position Description
In the Department of Mathematics at Paderborn University, which is part of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics within the framework of the DFG Research Unit “Vector- and Tensor-Valued Surface PDEs”, the following position is to be filled as soon as possible:
Research Associate (f/m/d)
(Salary is according to E 13 TV-L)
with 75 % of regular working hours. This position is initially limited to a fixed term of three years due to third-party funding in accordance with the law “Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz” (Wis-sZeitVG) and aims at supporting a PhD project. The duration of the contract corresponds to the approved project period.
Your tasks:
• Research in the group for Numerics of Partial Differential Equations of Prof. Dr. Ba-lázs Kovács, with focus on numerical analysis for elasticity problems
• Collaboration within the DFG funded Research Unit 3013 “Vector- and Tensor-Valued Surface PDEs”
Your profile:
• A completed scientific mathematics degree (master's/diploma degree), with a focus on numerical analysis
• Knowledge of numerical methods for elastic problems is highly welcome, but not re-quired
• Programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Pyhton)
