In the Department of Mathematics at Paderborn University, which is part of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics within the framework of the DFG Research Unit “Vector- and Tensor-Valued Surface PDEs”, the following position is to be filled as soon as possible: 

Research Associate (f/m/d)
(Salary is according to E 13 TV-L)

with 75 % of regular working hours. This position is initially limited to a fixed term of three years due to third-party funding in accordance with the law “Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz” (Wis-sZeitVG) and aims at supporting a PhD project. The duration of the contract corresponds to the approved project period. 

Your tasks: 
• Research in the group for Numerics of Partial Differential Equations of Prof. Dr. Ba-lázs Kovács, with focus on numerical analysis for elasticity problems 
• Collaboration within the DFG funded Research Unit 3013 “Vector- and Tensor-Valued Surface PDEs” Your profile: 
• A completed scientific mathematics degree (master's/diploma degree), with a focus on numerical analysis • Knowledge of numerical methods for elastic problems is highly welcome, but not re-quired 
• Programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Pyhton)
