Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in Data-driven Mathematical and Computational Biology at the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University. This position focuses on developing mathematical methods and computational tools for data-driven biology, especially for single-cell and spatial omics data. Mathematical topics include optimal transport, topological data analysis, and/or data-driven modeling. The position offers candidates with strong mathematical background the opportunity to expand their research profile through interdisciplinary studies, particularly in the area of data-driven biology. This includes working with cutting-edge single-cell and spatial omics data and collaborating with both mathematicians and biologists on real biological problems.
Qualifications
1.Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical/Computational Biology, Computer Science, or another related fields.
2.Experience in at least one of the following topics: Optimal Transport, Topological Data Analysis, and Data-driven modeling.
3.Excellent programming skills (Python or equivalent scientific programming languages).
4.Proficient writing and oral communication skills.
5.Some experience in biological applications is a plus but not necessary.
Terms
The position is available immediately; applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. The initial appointment is for one year, with a possible extension for two additional years.
