The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Houston – Downtown is inviting applications for a position at the level of Assistant Professor of Data Science to begin August 2025. A Ph.D degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields is required by May 2025. The successful applicant will be expected to be an excellent instructor and mentor; being able to teach graduate courses in Data Analytics, Statistics, or Mathematics as well as undergraduate courses in Data Science, Mathematics, and Statistics. The candidates will be expected to play an important role in the undergraduate Data Science program, pursue a research agenda in related areas, and provide service to the department, university, and the profession.
