| The School of Mathematical Sciences at Nankai University was developed from the Mathematics Department founded by Mr.Lifu Jiang in 1920. Over the past century, a group of outstanding talents have been cultivated for the development of modern mathematics in China, including the famous mathematician Mr. Shiing-Shen Chern, the renowned mathematician and educator Mr. Zehan Jiang, and Mr. Daren Wu.
Nankai Mathematics has been selected as one of the first batch of "first-rate universities and disciplines" and is a national key discipline with strong academic strength. It has made significant breakthroughs in the fifth round of discipline evaluation. The School of Mathematical Sciences has three national key disciplines: basic mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, and applied mathematics. It has the authority to confer doctoral degrees in first level mathematics disciplines and has a mathematics postdoctoral mobile station.
The college currently has teaching and research institutions such as the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Probability and Statistics, the Department of Information and Data Science, the Department of Applied Mathematics, the Department of Science and Engineering Computing, the Department of Mathematical Finance and Actuarial Science, the Higher Mathematics Teaching Department, and the Computing Laboratory. The college has two undergraduate majors, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Information and Computational Science. It also has a National Basic Science Research and Teaching Talent Training Base, which was formerly the Mathematics Pilot Class advocated by Mr.Shiing-Shen Chern. Recruit and cultivate graduate students in six secondary disciplines: pure mathematics, computational mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, applied mathematics, bioinformatics, and mathematical economics.

(1) Doctoral degree and diploma, reaching the academic level of associate professor/associate researcher or above in our university.

(3) Having the academic development potential and independent innovation ability of young discipline leaders, with a good research foundation and a research direction and plan based on academic frontiers.
