Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn (MPIM) invite applications of outstanding mathematicians for a

 

W2-Professorship (Bonn Junior Fellow / Max Planck Research Group Leader)

This is a temporary joint position for a period of 5 years and is based on a cooperation of HCM and MPIM according to the Jülicher Modell.

The Max Planck Research Group

The renumeration of the Group Leaders is based on remuneration group W2 of the Federal Civil Service Remuneration Act [Bundesbesoldungsgesetz - BBesG].

 

The professorship

The professorship intends to encourage independent research by outstanding junior researchers.

Bonn Junior Fellows participate in the additional resources of the Hausdorff Center. They will contribute to our advanced teaching program. German language skills are not required.

 

The candidate

We are looking for a young researcher holding a doctoral degree who is starting to develop their own research agenda. Suitable candidates should have already demonstrated scientific independence with relevant publications. Candidates should have some international research experience.

 

Research focus

We seek candidates who fit into the broad spectrum of the Cluster of Excellence and the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn and complement the existing expertise.

Deadline for applications: 28th September 2024. The deadline also applies to letters of recommendation. The expected starting date is not later than 1 October 2025.
