Position Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking to fill several tenure-track positions, with a start date of August 1, 2025. The rank is open and will be determined by candidate qualifications. Candidates in all areas of mathematics will be considered; applications from those working in geometry, topology, and analysis are desired. An earned doctorate in mathematics or related field and postdoctoral research experience is required at the time appointment begins. Successful candidates are expected to pursue independent research and teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates are expected to be able to communicate effectively in English. Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills are required.

The department has a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. It has over 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in a wide variety of areas in mathematics and statistics.
