The College of Engineering and Sciences at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Applied and Computational Mathematics within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. This 9-month academic appointment will commence in August 2025. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at PNW is committed to fostering diversity in all aspects of faculty responsibilities, including scholarship, teaching, and community engagement. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics with three distinct concentrations: Computational Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science, and Secondary Teaching. This position is open to candidates from all research areas within applied and computational mathematics. Requirements: A Ph.D. degree in Applied/Computational Mathematics, or a closely related field is required by August 12, 2025. Be able to teach and contribute to developing courses related to Applied and Computational Mathematics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Have a well-defined research agenda in Applied and Computational Mathematics with a clear vision of current and future work and how both undergraduate and graduate students will be involved in this work. Candidates must demonstrate receipt of external funding including but not limited to travel awards, or grant funding. Responsibilities Maintain a program of research leading to publications. Teach a wide range of graduate and/or undergraduate courses and fulfill the responsibilities associated with those courses, such as curriculum development, assessment, and student mentoring. Providing service to the department, university, profession, and/or community.
