Position Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in Numerical Methods for Nonlinear PDEs at the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University. This position focuses on developing numerical methods and computational tools for nonlinear time-dependent systems of conservation and balance laws, multiscale hyperbolic and kinetic equations, uncertainty quantification, and machine learning. Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics before the start date and must demonstrate research excellence, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to effective teaching. In addition to research, the postdoctoral researcher's responsibility will include teaching during the academic year. The number of courses will depend on the budget situation and will be negotiated at the time of hiring. 

The position is available immediately; applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. The initial appointment is for two years, with a possible extension for one additional year.
