Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at Tulane University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar to work in the research group of Prof. Tommaso Buvoli (https://tommasobuvoli.com/). Research topics include scientific computing, numerical analysis, and scientific machine learning. The postdoc will also teach two mathematics courses per year.

The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of an extension for a third year.

The position may start as early as July 1, 2025, with later start dates also possible.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Applied/Computational Mathematics or a related field.

An ideal candidate will have:

Experience deriving and analyzing numerical methods and/or machine learning methods for scientific computing. A strong computational background and experience with languages and frameworks such as Matlab, Python, NumPy/SciPy, Pytorch/TensorFlow/Jax.
