Ph.D. position in mathematical physics at the University of Tübingen The Department of Mathematics at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a Ph.D. position (m/f/d, 75%, salary level E13, 3 years) The position is funded by the ERC Starting Grant MathQuantProp: The Mathematics of Quantum Propagation. The appointment will be primarily based on excellent research potential in mathematical quantum physics performed through analytical methods. The successful candidate will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Marius Lemm. It is expected that the candidate will earn a Ph.D. degree in mathematics at the end of the 3 years. The large and active mathematical physics group at the University of Tübingen provides an academically stimulating top-level research environment. The successful candidate with suitable research profile can also become an affiliated member of the SFB TRR 352 Mathematics of Many-Body Quantum Systems and Their Collective Phenomena, a collaborative research center between Tübingen, TU Munich, and LMU Munich which regularly organizes conferences, summer schools, and other events for scientific exchange. Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Master degree in mathematics, physics, or a closely related field. The position does not have any teaching duties assigned. Knowledge of the German language is not required. The start date is flexible and expected to lie in mid 2025. The contract is for three years.
