Position Description
Located
in the beautiful coastal city of Zhuhai, Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong
Baptist University United International College (UIC) is the first
full-scale cooperation in higher education between the Chinese mainland and
Hong Kong, jointly founded by Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Hong Kong
Baptist University (HKBU). Since its first enrolment in 2005, with the aim of
serving China and the world, UIC has built a new model for liberal arts
education in China by tapping into traditional Chinese and Western cultural
resources. The college has established the Faculty of Business and Management,
School of Culture and Creativity, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences,
Faculty of Science and Technology, School of General Education, in addition to
the Graduate School. Altogether UIC offers 29 undergraduate programmes, and is
approved to offer 9 research and 5 taught postgraduate programmes for over

Professor in Financial Mathematics (Ref: FST241111)
Job Description
Candidates
with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Mathematical Finance,
Probability Theory, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Data Science,
Financial Derivatives, Risk Management in Finance, International Finance, Fixed
Income Securities.
Job Requirement
Candidates
should have earned PhD in financial engineering or financial mathematics from a
recognized university. Candidates from mathematics, statistics, operations
research, data science, computer science, or finance field are also welcome.
Successful candidates are required to demonstrate an ability to undertake
independent research leading to impactful outcomes, such as publication in
high-quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and other types of
scholarly work as appropriate & recognized by their disciplines. Meanwhile,
they are also expected to have a commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate
or postgraduate levels. Academic rank
will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and
accomplishments.
Benefits and Appointment Terms
Commencing
salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe
benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Appointments to
these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual
agreement.
