Position Description

The School of Mathematics and Statistics currently has more than sixty tenured academic staff and more than thirty research staff as well as visiting academics. UNSW is the top university in Australia for mathematics across the CWTS Leiden, ARWU, USNews, and QS rankings.

The Research Associate position will undertake research on a Discovery Project funded by the Australian Research council. The project seeks to advance our understanding of families of algebraic varieties through derived categorical and Hodge theoretic methods. The project’s investigators are Sándor Kovács at University of Washington and Behrouz Taji at UNSW. About the role • Level A - $110K - $117K AUD plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading • Fixed Term – 18 months – minimal teaching duties with possibility of 6 months extension (based on performance and or funding) • Full-time (35 hours per week)

The Research Associate reports to Behrouz Taji and has no direct reports.
